Each Uisge Whiskey

As part of a university project, I designed a brand identity for a whiskey which had to raise awareness of an issue related to drinking in Scotland.
My whiskey is inspired by a spirit from Scottish folklore known as the ‘Each Uisge’. This creature is said to lure its victims toward the sea or a loch, and ultimately drowning them.
I chose to center my whiskey’s branding around the Each Uisge to raise awareness about the rising number of alcohol-related drowning deaths in Scotland.
The tagline, ‘Do not take a dip after you have had a sip’, serves as a creative — and slightly eerie — reminder for consumers to avoid swimming in open water after drinking.
